June 2024: Due to continued traffic, I've decided to keep this campaign site open even though the election is over. Special thanks to S, S, K, B and D (and others) for all the time you've spent enjoying my website since the election. I urge anyone in your circle who continues to feel drawn to this website to try turning everything over to God. Repentance is the start to breaking free of the "situation" you've gotten in over the years, and finding true joy. God is good and wants us all in a state of grace.

Texans elect trustees to actively represent the public interests, the highest of which is ensuring children are properly educated in order to preserve our liberty. (Chapter 4 of the Education Code.)
Steve brings deep fortitude, intellect and character to the board, and has worked hard to usher in the fresh air of a new approach to board service.
Steve worked hard to ensure teacher opinions would be considered through surveys that would be anonymous to allow for honest feedback to make it all the way to the board; he repeatedly pushed for a Strategic Plan with metrics, goals and a way for the board to perform "informed oversight," which resulted in the Balanced District Scorecard. Steve advocated for more input by parents and staff into the annual school calendar approval process and continually works to bring in and amplify voices from the NEISD community.
Thanks to the voters in 2020, here are a few more things YOUR Trustee, Steve Hilliard, achieved for YOU above and beyond the norm, showing that positive change can happen.
"Being a school board trustee doesn't have to be done the 'same ole way'. In fact, a healthy organization is one that considers new approaches and performs 'Continuous Process Improvement'. That's what I've worked toward since day one." - Steve
